SRING!
What a welcome change, after a long cold winter. No longer will we see the brown, lifeless surround. Be held captivate by stormy weather and night fall coming early. How we have longed to see the bright colors of the blooms, feel the warmth of the sunshine, and have time in our day to indulge in a bike ride or long walk. We can come out of hibernation and start embracing the day and enjoying the sunny moments. Spring is traditionally a fresh start for many, a time of promise and new beginnings, a time of anticipation.
We notice the bulbs starting to peek thru, the fresh blade of grass, greener than the others starting to grow and the smell of the lawn onions fill the air. Many homeowners will pay close attention to their lawns and its curb appeal. Most will make efforts to clear away what didn’t fair well over the winter, pruning trees and weeding flower beds in hopes of new growth. We will take advantage of the rain to help cultivate the growth of our plants. We will enjoy the sunshine and all the benefits it provides, we will notice the “babies” being born and delight in their cuteness, and we will take comfort listening to the birds chirping sweet melodies once again. All of these items work together in the amazing process of spring, each benefiting and enriching to overcome winter. Each wonderment will be for the greater good.

Just as spring takes advantage of the rain, sun, growth and comfort, so can the real estate market! We can have a rebirth, just like spring.

Our “Rain” has been the past 18 months of our declining market, the rapid media news of the crisis, the dark facts of declining home values and the crippling restraints’ of the lenders. However, the “rain” we have faced in our industry can also help us grow, sprout new beginnings and encourage change.

The “Sun” in our industry is the influx of recovery promised in the recent news reports, prices are correcting, becoming more appropriate and reasonable and lenders are compromising large over-extended loans, while encouraging many stable, qualified buyers to apply. Government tax credits and home buyer incentives provided to buyers along with the record low interest rates are promising a brighter time for the market. Let the sunshine in!

The “Growth” in our industry is coming to terms with what happened in the past, taking responsibility for the mistakes we have made and making sure we never repeat them. We have a lot to learn from the unstable and fearful time of the past, but that’s how you learn and grow from you mistakes. We are more enlightened now and moving forward with more awareness and knowledge, and that is a true sign of growth.

The “Comfort” in our industry is that investing in real estate is still, even after what we have been thru, the most secure investment we can make. Home values will typically increase over time, providing a solid rate of return on investments, there are substantial tax breaks for owning a home and many homeowners find a great sense of security in the fact that they own. Comfort is more than sitting close to a warm fire in your living room, enjoying your favorite show, it can also be found in your financial future when you own a home.
